Mission Statement

The Rhode Island Hoarding Disorder Task Force is convened through the Rhode Island Elder Mental Health and Addiction Coalition. The RI Hoarding Disorder Task Force is brought together by the common interests of a diverse group of agencies, individuals, and organizations.  The Task Force provides opportunities for working together to improve the availability and quality of services for individuals and families impacted by excessive accumulation, clutter and hoarding disorder through education, advocacy, networking, and increased public awareness.

What is Hoarding?

A person collects and keeps a lot of items, even things that appear useless or of little value to most people.

These items clutter living spaces, keep the person from using their rooms as they were intended, and cause distress or problems in day-to-day activities.
